Day 83

We started off the day watching LightWire Theater's production of The Ugly Duckling, which was such a unique production and the puppetry and creativity was wonderful! 

After the show we had delicious dumplings at Alaska Pel'meni, and then Grace went to Ultra Violence Tattoo Shop to get a hummingbird tattoo for her birthday! (It turned out awesome). 

We took a ride out to Pinnacle Glacier, where we walked almost 4 miles! Many of the walking paths were 6-7 feet high in snow, so we took a closed road out to the pier and played in the snow. We even met new 4-Legged friends, Crash and Boom who were very sweet and excited to be out in the cold. 

Dan was once again knee deep in snow to get a great shot. We then drove through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel to get to Whittier, Alaska- a timed tunnel which is the longest highway in North America- 2.5 miles! It is also the first tunnel designed for -40 degree temperatures and 150 mph winds! 

We got through the tunnel and saw the beautiful Prince William Sound. Then we had an awesome dinner at the ONLY restaurant open in the town, where we met a new friend, Margie who was born and raised in Alaska. The fish and chips were wonderful and we drank cool fresh glacier water which was awesome! The sun set late on the way home, and then we played Jackbox and laughed until late. 

It's been an awesome day in Alaska.
